2/2 screen printed business cards. the designer had wanted the glow in the dark ink to be a solid opaque color, however, that’s not how these inks come. it needed to be redesigned to be a flood layer of glow in the dark ink on either side of the card with a coat of black over top to get the desired effect.
2/1 print. the client came to me with this being a 3/2 card, but we were able to make it work as a 2/1 with silver ink as one of the colors. the text also came out fairly well for being a knock out of a serif font.
2/1 card on various stocks. this was a design and the card was featured on FPO.
1/2 print. version #2 of my company business card. this version is blue and black on 140lb. pure white paper. we’ve been experimenting with edge painting over the last few days, so next i’ll post the version of this card with yellow edges.
2/2 print for Figlewicz Photography on kraft chipboard. we were able to get a lot of detail to come out on the small flowers and petals.
1/1 card for randy coleman photography. this card is really small. i love the dimensions of this even though i am not personally a fan of small cards.
2/0 print designed by us. we printed this card twice with the same screen and the second time it came out really distressed because of the previous use. we liked the effect so much we actually do this at various times for our own prints. we call it printing with a dirty screen.
3/1 cards for Custom Ink. these came out really great. because of the opacity of the inks we had to do this as a 3/1 card instead of using the natural white of the paper as the white color on the front. otherwise you would have gotten an inconsistency between the two blues where they meet.
1/1 print for on kraft chipboard. pretty straight forward. this client actually had us print additional mailers and promotional DVDs.
2/0 card on 140lb. black muscletone. orange ink is plastisol. occasionally we print cards for art school students and designers. i love helping them out.
1/0 print on assorted papers. i printed these for a friend of mine so i just used some muted toned papers that we had laying around.
1/1 print with silver ink on dark blue plike paper. the cards are approximately 3” x 1.5”.
2/0 print on 140lb. black muscletone paper. the red ink is plastisol.
1/0 download card for the band Banquets! simple and too the point these cards are on 0.30 kraft chipboard.
2/1 print. i think that green is the least used color by our clients. i’m glad this company branded themselves with such a great color green! the small trademark symbol was a bitch to come out, but overall it was a fun print and it came out great. bright white 140lb. paper.
my name is chris. i own a screen printing and cd/dvd duplication company called sire press based in philadelphia, pa. i really appreciate a good screen printed business card because after years of printing, i know how difficult they are to master. this blog is dedicated to cards that i (we) print at sire press, cards i print on my own, and cards from around the web.
i print everything by hand. some other companies use machines to print their flat stock. that takes the soul out of what we do and commercializes it. screen printing is an art form that i have learned to love and respect.
